Final Project Video: continued
I’ve been using After Effects for some of the editing/filter effects on the video. Not knowing the program’s interface makes this time consuming but it’s coming along.
Although I’ll be using AF for some of the effects, I’m still going to be using Final Cut for the main video cuts and other edits for the finalized video. I’ll be rending out certain clips in AF and dropping them into FC to do the assemblage.
The video I have here posted is how the entire video will be transitioning from picture to picture. The quality is very pixelated, and I have a higher res video rending at the school overnight (its taking 4 1/2 hrs!!) Tomorrow I will post the better res video. I will be shooting the last of the photos this week/weekend and editing it thereafter.
Video Progress
This is a rough edit. I’m working on syncing up the images to the music. Parts of the video, particularly some of the driving scene, will not be in the final. I’m just using it now as filler to establish a sense of editing style. The video stops at 1 minute but the rest of the song continues.

These storyboard images are explaining transitional areas within the video as well as environmental settings
Project Progression Update
With my story I want to illustrate the idea of cycles within all realms of life. Life and death, starting and ending segments in one’s life, a plastic bottle that is recycled to make something new are all illusions that things have an end and things have a beginning. In my story I plan to use photographs in rapid succession that tell of this constant deepening in life we all experience. Our experiences morph and mold our individualities making us who we are presently. These cycles will continue until our conscious no longer exists in how we perceive ourselves and our surroundings. The story will start with a person in a wide open field standing still. The camera will move closer and closer to the person who will be holding something (e.g. a flower). The camera will continue to move closer to the object until it is full frame which will then be the start of another environment. The micro will be the start of a macro and in that macro things will continue to focus in on the micro within. It’s similar to the idea of dreams within dreams and tiny universes within everything around us and how we ourselves are part of a tiny universe that makes up a bigger one. The story will be about this constant cycle. I’m still thinking about the different environments that will arise within and how they will relate to each other. I hope this makes some sense.
This is the link to a video I made demonstrating the use of photos in rapid succession to tell my story.
Project 3: Ron Saks
Explore layers. A character. Someone curious, something adventurous. Plunging into the depths and finding the wake of illusion. Tunnel deep. Tunnel hollow. Matters of transparency cast. Disposed. Evaporated into subliminal. Expectations are too many signatures awaiting approval. The top heavy figure only falls beneath to come out at large. A truer sense of discovery. Pages of information resting on top one another. To the brief segments who speak. Those are the challenges of assurance. Something in the way to take it by muddy propellers. A travel. So great it can only be absorbed into the capillaries by which it stands. Into the faces of the layered self finds another alternative. An endless amount who found no deflation before its very author. There the lines look through as content shifts. Hello before the times in need of another break.

This will be translated using a still camera and the photos will be assembled in an editing program to emulate video. A series of images strung together by time.

I am featuring automobiles in my portraits. Cars, trucks, mini vans, etc all posses a specific look and “character” to them. The way the headlights, bumper, grill, turning signals, and other features are positioned not only serve functional purposes but also ascetic. These ascetics build personas and signatures for different models and automakers. This correlates with how different people from different cultures look whether it be the dress and/or physical features. Physical features within people are visually the common way of identifying diversity on a metaphysical level. A part of identifying people relies on the surface.
